Star Telegram Interview: Star Telegram interview - "Arlington artist Kris Swenson uses a wide palette".
The Univeristy of Texas at Arlington's "MavWire" Publication:
"Kristin Swenson ... is also an accomplished artist. She has been selected to show her work at the new Art: Raw Gallery, which opened Feb. 19, in New York City. Swenson ‘s well-received piece “On a Personal Note” is on display through March 28 at the Art Hotel Gallery in Dallas. She will be a participant in the very last show in Fort Worth's historic Firehouse Art Gallery, which runs from Saturday to Saturday, Feb. 28."
Vocal Session review from Herd of Instinct's track "Blood Sky, 2011" - c. Firepool Records
“Blood Sky”, the only track featuring vocals, is one of the undisputed highlights of the album, a haunting showcase for the husky, understated vocals of former 99 Names of God singer Kris Swenson. Mellotron and marimba add subtle atmospheric layers to the spectacular guitar interplay, fleshed out by stunning percussion patterns."
"For the kind of music we [Herd of Instinct] play, I prefer taking the all-instrumental path. ... Kris Swenson’s vocals on the track “Blood Sky” are, in my opinion, beautiful, and are what absolutely MAKE this song. For us, vocals are another color to paint with, and they are not used as a device to make a song more accessible." - Jason Spradlin. member of Herd of Instinct

CD: Excursions, 99 names of God, 2000:
Amazon.com music review:
"I've seen 99 Names Of God live many times live - when an artist captivates you live and keeps you on edge until the fade of the last note,
creativity has surely reached a mark of excellence. Its rare and refreshing when an artist maintains that same feel and mood in a recording, 99 Names Of God achieves this with seductive allure on their CD Excursions.
With their unique experimentation on the canvas of sound, this CD is a blend of natural and electronic sounds, brewing a hypnotic mood intertwined with a catalyst from some cosmic industrial realm - a pleasant departure from the norm. Hearing Mark Cook weave a tapestry of sound layered on the back bone of rhythmic clashes of Jason Spradlin is simply awesome! The mix is brought to full flavor by Kris Swenson's unique rich, dark yet innocent vocal style. If you think that's an ear full, just give this CD a spin! There's an audio-aroma you feel you're detecting with some of your other senses! Provide ample time for a definite "eXcursion"! Truly one of Dallas' (or in anywhere USA) most creative bands."
CD: Interwoven, 99 names of God, 2003:
Amazon.com customer reviews
"Dark and mysterious, sultry and innocent. 99 Names Of God continues with their unique sound born of a pure creative passion for setting a mood. Their Interwoven release is representative of its naming - a mix of sound and ambiance created by the mix of the band's creative soul - dark and mysterious like a trip through a rainy day in wonderland, yet sultry and innocent like the dance of a graceful ballerina. Hard to believe all this comes from a trio, even more unbelievable to see them do it live!"
